Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told in the Lok Sabha that under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, more than 1.6 lakh claims worth Rs 287 crore have been settled. Mandaviya informed that 210 hospitals have been de-empanelled and 188 suspended for not following the guidelines of the National Health Authority (NHA) or the State Health Authority. A fine of Rs 20.71 crore has also been imposed on these hospitals. Out of this Rs 9.5 crore has been recovered.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are used to detect suspicious transactions or potential fraud. They are used for the prevention, detection and redressal of health care fraud.

Within a year, the price of toned and full cream milk has increased by about 10 per cent. Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Purushottam Rupala gave this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha while presenting the figures for June, 2022 and June, 2023. Rupala said that the price of toned milk in June 2023 was Rs 51.6 per liter, which is 8.86 percent higher than Rs 47.4 per liter in June 2022. At the same time, the price of full cream milk was 58.8 per liter in June 2022, which increased by 9.86 percent to 64.6 per liter in June 2023.

Punjab-based pharmaceutical company QP Pharmachem Ltd. Construction activities were put on hold. Samples were collected from its premises after the World Health Organization (WHO) alert, which did not meet the standard. Thereafter, the company was asked to stop the production activities. Minister of State for Health Bharti Praveen Pawar told the Lok Sabha that the WHO had issued an alert for a batch of India-made Guaifenesin syrup in the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.
