Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday said that no word is banned, the compilation of the removed words is going on after a controversy arose over the inclusion of some common colloquial words in the compilation of the list of unparliamentary words. The words which have been removed have been said and used in Parliament by the opposition as well as the party in power, he said. There is nothing as selective removal of words used by the opposition only. He said that no words are banned, those words have been removed which were objected earlier.

The Congress on Thursday accused the government of insulting democracy by placing 'jumlajeevi' and several other words in the category of unparliamentary expressions and said that it will continue to use these words in both the houses of Parliament.
