The condition of Yamuna river in the capital Delhi is getting worse day by day. The large scale white foam spread in Yamuna river at Kalindi Kunj Ghat on Wednesday has not only worried the people of Delhi but also created a stir in the political corridors. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on BJP over this incident and claimed that despite the "four-engine government", Yamuna pollution has reached its peak.
AAP shared a video on social media, in which the water of Yamuna river is seen filled with white foam. The party has alleged that this foam is an indication of the presence of many dangerous toxic chemicals including ammonia in the water of Yamuna. Targeting BJP, the party said that cleaning of Yamuna has remained limited to papers and speeches only, whereas in reality the situation has become even more horrific.
Former Delhi CM and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi shared this video and wrote, “This is the wonder of BJP's four-engine government. Yamuna has never faced so much pollution in its history.” Aam Aadmi Party alleged that the BJP government only talks about announcements and schemes, but no concrete steps are being taken at the ground level. The party says that looking at the condition of Yamuna in Delhi, it is clear that BJP's programs like 'Namami Gange' and 'Yamuna Safai Abhiyan' are proving to be a failure. This issue of foam in Yamuna has heated up the politics of Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party is constantly adopting an aggressive stance on this issue.
