A decision will be taken today on making public the survey report of Gyanvapi filed in two sealed envelopes in the court of District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwashesh. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had filed the report on December 18.

While the Hindu side has requested for a copy of the survey report to be given immediately, the Muslim side has expressed its objection. The Muslim side says that a copy of the report should be given with an affidavit that it will not be leaked. A demand has also been made to ban media coverage of the report.

On the orders of the District Judge's court, ASI had started the survey in Gyanvapi on July 24. It took 153 days to survey, prepare the report and file it in the court. Along with the survey report by ASI, the list of evidence handed over to the District Magistrate has also been filed in the court. Besides, an application has also been given in the court, in which it has been explained how the ASI has done the survey work.
