A commendable decision has been taken to give women the right to equality in the society. The Tamil Nadu government has given women the opportunity to become priests on the basis of ability, that is, women will also perform their worship and can become capable of becoming priests in the temple. For this, qualified women will be given pastoral training. Announcing the decision, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that according to the 'Dravidian model of governance', women can also hold priesthood in temples.

With the announcement of Chief Minister Stalin, three women have been included in this program of the state. These three women have completed the training of Archakar i.e. priest. The training of these three women has been completed from Sri Ranganatha Temple, Srirangam in Tiruchirappalli.

The names of these three women priests working as priests in the major temples of the state are S Krishnaveni, M Ramya and Ranjitha. S Krishnaveni, M Ramya and Ranjitha are the first three women to have taken training from Archakar Training School. All three women Archakars will be appointed to the post of assistant priests in Vaishnav temples.

All three women priests are educated and qualified. M Ramya has a Master's degree. Expressing her happiness about becoming a priest, she said that she wants to serve God. For this he took training, so that he could get appointment in big temples and get a chance to learn. The second priest, Krishnaveni, has passed B.Sc. in Mathematics. Krishnaveni's father and grandfather served in the Mariamman temple of the village.
