How concluded the second day of meetings between Trump and Netanyahu?
The conflict in Gaza persists, as Israel demands the disappearance of Hamas and Hamas wants the Israeli withdrawal from the enclave.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, concluded their second day of meetings in Washington on Tuesday to fine-tune the details of the truce agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Few details have emerged about the talks between the two leaders beyond the fact that they took place behind closed doors and that US Vice President JD Vance was present, the Israeli Prime Minister's office reported in a statement.
Netanyahu arrived in the United States yesterday to discuss with the Republican president a possible 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which should serve to negotiate a definitive end to the conflict.
However, the positions between the two countries remain very distant, since Jerusalem demands the disappearance of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamist group, considered terrorist by several countries, wants the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the enclave.
Trump had dinner with Netanyahu at the White House on Monday to give impetus to the truce negotiations.
During the meeting, both assured that they are negotiating with countries neighboring Israel to welcome Palestinians who want to leave the Strip "voluntarily", although no Arab country has spoken in favor of this plan.
