Democrats expand list of candidates to take districts from Republicans
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee integrates more candidates to its "Red to Blue" list
Veterans, firefighters, sheriffs, doctors, journalists and a Grammy-winning musician make up the second list “Red to Blue” (“Red t or Blue”, in English) with which the Democrats seek to gain positions from the Republicans in Congress in the November election.
This is an expansion of the list presented in February by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
“The DCCC announced eight new top candidates added to its highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program […] for the 2026 election cycle,” the DCCC indicated. “This latest group of candidates data will receive strategic guidance, staff resources, training and fundraising support, to ensure that they are in the best possible position to win in November.”
The list included the singer Bobby Pulido, who is competing for the 15th District of Texas and facing the Republican Mónica de la Cruz.
“As the American people reject the disastrous high price agenda of the House Republicans, the House Democrats have the momentum to reclaim the majority,” the president considered a del DCCC, Suzan DelBene. “These latest additions to our Red to Blue programme represent the strength of our people-focused message and the broad appeal of our top candidates.”
The Democrats campaign focuses on the economy in the U.S., something that the listed candidates will continue to focus on.
In addition to Pulido, the list includes Marlene Galán-Woods (Arizona-01), who was a journalist and is a single mother of five children.
“As a first-generation Cuban-American, Marlene's parents fled communist Cuba in search of a better life,” it is highlighted.
Also there is Dr. Jasmeet Bains (California-22), who would run against Republican David Valadao.
“[Bains is] the daughter of first-generation immigrants, has served Central Valley families in her hometown's clinic, on the frontline of the California wildfires and in emergency hospitals,” it states.
Jessica Killin (Colorado-05) is a U.S.Army veteran, who is the daughter of public school educators.
“Jessica was raised in Colorado Springs and grew understanding the value of public service,” it states. “After earning an ROTC scholarship, Jessica served as a captain and paratrooper in the U.S.Army.”
Joe Baldacci (Maine-02) is a Bangor native, lawyer and state senator.
“Joe grew up with his seven siblings behind the counter of his family's restaurant, Momma Baldacci's, where he learned from early that “that hard work is rewarded and that difficult times require strong communities that care for each other,” its profile says.
Bob Harvie (Pennsylvania-01) is a resident of Bucks County; he is a proud unionist and educator.
“Has been a two elected Bucks County Commissioner and never lost an election, Bob has presented balanced budgets and a bipartisan voting history of more than 90% because his priority is improving the lives of the people he was elected to serve,” it is presumably.
Bob Brooks (Pennsylvania-07) is a firefighter with 20 years of experience.
“He still proudly serves as president of the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association, where he fights for higher wages and better health care for his union,” his profile says.
About Bobby Pulido it stands out that he has worked to “give a voice to the community”.
“Bobby answers the call to serve and bring the values of South Texas to Congress. Mónica De La Cruz has abandoned South Texas, dealing devastating blows to working families,” indicates the profile.
Johnny Garcia (Texas-35) is a San Antonio native and has worked in construction, in addition to achieving a career as a local deputy sheriff for Bexar County.
“Johnny has dedicated his life to investing in his community, building a career based on transparency and service,” his profile says.
