Hillary Clinton demands a public hearing with cameras to testify about the Epstein files
Former First Lady Hillary Clinton is willing to testify about the Epstein files, but demands it be in a public hearing with cameras
Hillary Clinton, former First Lady of the nation, demands a public hearing with television cameras rolling to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee as part of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein Epstein, leader of a child sex trafficking ring.
The objective of reopening the case of the financier who committed suicide in a jail cell in 2019 is to establish possible links with high-profile public figures, including the Clinton family.
Last week, the Justice Department shared more than three million pages of documents, in addition to 2,000 videos and 18,000 images related to the case.
The controversial point is that in some of the photographs, former President Bill Clinton appears with Jeffrey Epstein, and in at least one other, he is seen accompanied by a girl whose face has been covered, all while the investigation is underway. However, the 79-year-old Democrat has not been charged with any crime. Although Bill and Hillary Clinton had tried to avoid testifying, Republican James Comer threatened to hold them in contempt of Congress to force them to change their minds. In response, the former first lady, who is scheduled to testify on February 26, one day before her husband, took to the X platform to demand that her appearance be public. “If you want this fight, @RepJamesComer, let’s make it public. You love to talk about transparency. There is nothing more transparent than a public hearing with the cameras rolling. We will be there,” she wrote. Republican Comer has refused to budge on making the scheduled hearings public and insists that the Clintons are being subpoenaed for a “formal deposition,” not a hearing. In fact, during an interview with Newsmax,The conservative politician warned the Clintons that he does not recommend invoking the Fifth Amendment during the committee's questioning, as that would imply remaining silent in the face of the questions they would be asked during their respective hearings. “They’ve been talking a lot over the last 24 hours about wanting the American people to see, to know the truth and all that. Well, if the truth is that they can’t answer the questions, and they invoke the Fifth Amendment, then I think that will be a mark that will bar them from attending social gatherings and everything else, because most liberals in America are very concerned about uncovering the truth about Epstein,” he emphasized.
