Republican Nancy Mace, who aspires to become governor of South Carolina, was singled out by one of her own advisors for allegedly betraying the agenda promoted by President Donald Trump under the slogan "Make America Great Again" (MAGA).
In a post shared on the X platform, Austin McCubbin, who served as campaign manager for Team Trump 2024 in South Carolina and advised Representative Mance, exposed her on social media for allegedly supporting two Republicans opposed to the president.
“Nancy Mace has once again decided to turn her back on MAGA to embrace the political cactus that is the Rand Paul + Thomas Massie wing of the Party.
Last month, the Rand Paul-affiliated PAC Protect Freedom began spending money on Nancy's behalf. I had no prior knowledge of this, and campaigns cannot control outside spending,” he stated.
McCubbin then mentioned that Nancy Mace claims she is supporting Rand Paul because it will financially benefit his campaign.
“When I spoke with Nancy last Wednesday, it became clear to me that she fully supports Rand Paul's PAC. She told me that she is instructing a personal friend to fund a seven-figure check for Rand's PAC. He distanced himself, and now fully supports the Rand Paul + Thomas Massie group for money,” she emphasized.
In response, a spokesperson for Nancy Mace issued a statement calling Austin McCubbin unprofessional and someone who, despite not raising a single penny for the representative's campaign, demanded payment which, when denied, led him to fabricate a fabricated story.
“Mr. McCubbin did not raise a single penny for the campaign, or better yet, he didn't even bother to show up. When he demanded $10,000 a month for 'services' and was told no, he ran straight to X. Good luck with that!
Nancy Mace has supported President Trump from day one. Mr. McCubbin himself said so:“Nancy Mace will be the most pro-Trump and pro-America governor in the country,” part of the letter states.
