America and the three signings that could not materialize
America had not had three signings frustrated for a long time and now for different reasons it could not sign Jeremy Marquez, Efrain Alvarez and JuanMa Sanabria
It seems incredible, but it's true, America's board of directors couldn't close the signings of three possible reinforcements such as Jeremy Márquez from Atlas, Efrain Alvarez from Tijuana and Juan Manuel Sanabria from Atlético San Luis, who finally rejected the option of joining the ranks of the Eagles.
Unfortunately, the Americanist leaders headed by Santiago Banos were finding many obstacles to closing the signings of Marquez from Atlas, Alvarez from Xolos and Sanabria from Atlético San Luis, who ended up rejecting an agreement with the Eagles for the Apertura 2025 tournament.
For now, of the options that have been handled, they have only been able to sign Alexis Gutierrez from Cruz Azul and Isaias Violante from Toluca, but their direct objectives were the other three players, with which the coaching staff headed by Brazilian André Jardine thought to strengthen his squad for the tournament that is about to begin.
The signings
In the case of Jeremy Marquez, it had been said that the Atlas midfielder was already arranged with América, but suddenly a better offer from Cruz Azul arrived that satisfied the player already the Atlas board of directors, with which from the get-go the arrival of this player with an important horizon ended up closing his signing with the cement workers.
The same case occurred with Efrain Alvarez, since America's interest was not recent, but rather long-standing and everything suggested that the forward from the border team would wear the Aguilas shirt, but in the end he ended up joining Chivas, which was a hard blow for the Coapa entity.
Especially because the board of directors had successfully closed the negotiations, but the problem lay when it came to offering the money to the player and that's where things got complicated and gave way to the offer from Chivas that ended up reaching the services of the Mexican-American player.
Finally, the Uruguayan Juan Manuel Sanabria did not want to leave Atletico San Luis for many reasons, but above all for the continuity he wanted to have a chance with the Uruguayan national team, but at America he might not have that continuity beyond the dimension of wearing the America shirt.
Although unofficially, in contrast to this version, it was also said that Sanabria's refusal to join America came from a decision by the Las Tunas team's high command as a result of the political struggle taking place in Mexican soccer, where San Luis is part of the famous Group of Eight, which is against the decisions made by Televisa to sign with the investment fund.
So far, the only signing that has supposedly been closed is that of Colombian Jose Raul “Pantera” Zuniga, but until his salary is settled, the player's signing cannot be officially announced.
