Priyanka Goswami on Saturday won a silver medal in the 10,000 meters walking event of the Commonwealth Games here. Goswami clocked a personal best of 43:38.83 to finish second behind Australia's Jemima Montag (42:34.30). Kenya's Emily Wamusi Ngi (43:50.86) won the bronze medal.

Priyanka Goswami became the first Indian female athlete to win a medal in walking. By doing this he has created history. Harminder Singh became the first Indian to win a bronze medal in the 20 km walk at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
