An investigation is opened against PSG for apart from team a Kylian Mbappe in 2023
The French footballer accused the team of separating him since he announced his decision not to renew his contract
While the United States is experiencing Club World Cup fever, in France the justice system has opened an investigation into the complaint by footballer Kylian Mbappe for moral harassment against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, which removed him from the first team in 2023 as a pressure measure to get him to renew his contract or leave the club.
The complaint was announced last month by the lawyers of the now Real Madrid player and has led to the appointment of two investigating judges to investigate the events, as confirmed by judicial sources to the EFE agency on Thursday.
Mbappe, who announced at the beginning of the 2023/2024 season that he would not fulfill the third year of his optional contract with PSG, was removed from the first team. Club president Nasser Al Khelaifi claimed it was a measure to encourage him to renew his contract or leave immediately, which would have allowed for the payment of a transfer fee. After this, the forward trained with the second team for a month before finally being reinstated in the first team, managed by Luis Enrique, following an alleged agreement with the president, Al Khaleifi. The player has denied this agreement and is demanding payment from the club of 55 million euros, equivalent to $64 million dollars, in back pay that PSG believes corresponds to this verbal agreement. The case has passed through various sporting authorities, and the club hopes to have it taken to a labor court. Meanwhile, Mbappe's lawyers announced a series of legal measures against the club to force it to accept payment of these back pay. Among them is a lawsuit for having been removed from the first team, a practice that the players' union has long denounced. Mbappe left for Real Madrid on a free transfer at the end of the 2023/2024 season, angering the club, which confiscated the $64 million.
