Paulinho dispatched with a goal of Chilean in the comeback of Toluca 2-1 vs. CF Montreal
Toluca came from behind to score an important victory over CF Montreal 1-2 with a great Chilean goal from Paulinho that sealed the scarlet triumph
When Toluca was fighting with all their might to try to achieve their first victory in the Leagues Cup, the Portuguese Paulinho appeared to deliver a spectacular bicycle kick that capitalized on the comeback against CF Montreal and thus headed towards a 2-1 victory for the rest of the game.
A victory based on the greater experience of the team led by Antonio Mohamed to recover from the first blow of the Canadians in the 20th minute through Efrain Morales and that with the goals of Jesus Ricardo “Canelo” Angulo in the 23rd minute and then three minutes later through Paulinho they capitalized on what would ultimately be their first victory to reach five units after the two points they snatched from them in their first game with the Columbus Crew.
Toluca went from less to more
Toluca had a hard time adapting to the game, because in the first minutes they were on the verge of being thrashed, but in the end they got out of the quagmire, although at 20 minutes Efrain Morales opened the scoring to allow certain ghosts to reappear in the environment of the Red Devils.
The goal for the team from the country of the Maple Leaf came on a corner kick from the right that Morales beat two defenders from the State of Mexico team to finish with his head and beat the Mexican goalkeeper and establish the small difference.
But now Toluca, unlike the duel of opening match against Columbus Crew, they were able to quickly turn the score around, taking away the home team's joy when Montreal made a mistake in the exit and allowed Helinho to take the ball and pass it to Canelo Angulo, who only had to shoot at the near post to tie the score in the 23rd minute.
But three minutes later Toluca's best came with a Chilean from Portuguese Paulinho to tie the match in a very positive result that restores the scarlet team's options of advancing to the next phase of the Leagues Cup to the eleven led by Antonio Mohamed.
Even in the second half the Mexican team was closer to increasing the score of the victory when in the 64th minute Helinho from outside the area took a tremendous shot that made the CF Montreal goalkeeper strange before he could send it to the corner kick saving his squad from the third and definitive goal of the match.
Now Toluca will close its participation in the first phase against New York City FC, who hours before had taken care of Leon where the Colombian star James missed a penalty Rodríguez,
