The proposal caused criticism in different parts of the country. Parent organizations, specialists and some state governments questions rum reduced several weeks of classes in all Mexico when only three cities will host the World Cup: Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.
So far, school authorities have not released a definitive official calendar with the new dates, or nthat Mario Delgado didn't remove his finger from the line that will be next June 5 when the children stop attending classes.
The current calendar originally contemplates the end of schools for mid-July 2026 and a total 185 effective days of school activities.
