Miguel Herrera and his “failures” of those who wants to get up
El "Piojo" is the new coach of Atlante. Miguel Herrera acknowledged that he must improve in regard to his latest performances that puts him in doubt
Miguel Herrera was officially presented as the new coach of Atlante, a club that will return to the Liga MX. El “Piojo” is a coach of prestige in Mexican football. However, herrera himself recognized that he must rise from his “failures”.
The former coach of the Aguilas of America will take on a new project with the Iron Potros. The Mexican strategist will lead Atlante for a two year contract period (until May 2028). Herrera will have the support of Federico Vilar and Ricardo Carbajal as assistants.
However, Miguel Herrera left a very clear objective in his presentation. The “Piojo” must stop the bad streak of processes that he has in his career. Herrera himself is aware of this and hopes to be able to reverse his present with Atlante.
“You have to get up from defeats, failures, and what better than to do it with the team of my loves, with all the support and trust that they have given me,” he acknowledged.
The failures of Miguel Herrera
After a correct step through the Aguilas of America between the years 2017 and 2020, Miguel Herrera has had some problems with his recent projects. The first of them was with the Tigres of UANL.
El “Piojo” had a really competitive squad, but couldn't achieve the objectives set. Herrera directed 61 games with him together university and alone could leave a balance of 31 wins, 13 draws and 19 losses. The highest reached were two semifinals.
With the Xolos from Tijuana the result wasn't very different. The “La Frontera” group only had to compete. But with Miguel Herrera they didn't manage to return to positions in high positions important in Mexican soccer. El “Piojo” only directed 47 games in which he obtained 10 wins, 13 draws and 24 losses. He couldn't classify the team to any Liguilla.
The third and most recent step was the Costa Rica team. With the “Ticos” he also suffered a resounding fall. In the Costa Rican team he only directed 15 matches. Herrera left or a balance of 7 wins, 5 draws and 3 defeats. El “Piojo” couldn't take the Costa Rica team to the World Cup in qualifiers without Mexico, the United States and Canada.
