Trump refuses to extradite huachicol traffickers requested by Claudia Sheinbaum
Trump ignores extradite to Mexico two crude smuggling kingpins requested by Sheinbaum, but demands the handover of politicians linked to narcotics
Three months are close to completion since Claudia Sheinbaum, president of Mexico, requested the administration headed by Donald Trump to extradite two real full pesos of illegal fuel trafficking, known as “huachicol”.
Since then, no advance has been made for James Jensen and his son Maxwell, Utah Americans detained in their country, in April 2025, on charges of conspiracy, money laundering and financing a terrorist organization, have been sent to Mexico to be tried.
The Mexican authorities estimate that the persons in question, together with other businessmen, over three years allegedly smuggled close to 2,900 shipments of stolen crude oil to the parastatal Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) using an out-of-series scheme, since they were falsely declared as additives or industrial oils, this with the objective of evading the corresponding taxes in border customs and which in Mexico is defined under the name of “huachicol fiscal”.
The U.S. government accuses the Jensens of alleged illegal fuel trafficking, forgery of documents and for laundering money, this not to mention that they were allegedly allies of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
Investigations carried out by authorities in Mexico show that James and Maxwell Jensen were so intelligent that they entered oil into Es United States from Mexico at a poor price, but later, by refining it in South Texas, they gave an enormous value priced in dollars.
However, the ingenious scheme represents a violation of U.S. Tariff Law.
Their networks of complicity also included senior commands of the Navy in the ports and border customs, police and even military.
Many of these individuals are already in prison, while some are still on the run from kill in countries where Mexico does not have treaties to extradite them.
Despite all the evidence detected against the Jensens, the U.S. government refuses to send them to Mexico and the main reason e I know that most of the money they obtained smuggling oil is deposited in their banks from where they don't want a single dollar to come out.
In Sheinbaum's words, while Mexico has extradited more than 90 people to the United States, has not received any response from their ve ncid from the north about the extradition of some “Kings of huachicol” capable of embroiling the Aztec energy sector in only three years.
The laughable thing is that last week, Jay Clayton, federal attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Terrance C. Cole, administrator of the U.S. Drug Agency s (DEA), formally accused Rubén Rocha Moya, former governor of Sinaloa, and 10 other high level officials in his cabinet of having alleged links to drug trafficking.
So the demand was to extradite everyone as soon as possible, although at that time no evidence supporting the accusations will be presented.
Both the cases of James and Maxwell Jensen, and that of Rocha Moya and his team have strained the relationship between Donald Trump and Cla udia Sheinbaum placing the Mexican president at a disadvantage, in case Washington exerts pressure on them Your person will very likely end up sending the characters demanded by US authorities, even if this means prolonging your wait for a couple of alleged criminals who may never set foot inside a prison in Mexico.
