Chivas, without five selected, did the dumbness of eliminating Tigres: 2-0 (global 3-3)
Chivas put all the value and football that had to be put in to come back two goals from a deadvantage and eliminate the Tigres of the UANL: 2-0 (overall 3-3)
Regardless of the forms, without taking into account the desperation of Chivas for some moments, the truth is that the end justifies the means; enough to eliminate the Tigres with two goals from newcomer Santiago Sandoval and advance to the semifinals with the tiebreaker criterion after the 3-3 aggregate.
Tigres paid dearly to assume a passive attitude and demonstrate that as a visitor it's not their strength, since from the first minute the Guadala Jara was able to resolve the match with a score from Efraín Álvarez, but it was annulled by the VAR due to being in a forward position.
The rest was a constant siege by Guadalajara that generated 27 arrivals at the goal of Nahuel Guzmán and although only five went on the goal, two of them were the goals by Santiago Sandoval that gave them a pass to the semifinals.
A victory with much merit by not having five key players on the field who are with the Mexico team team , like Raúl “ Tala” Rangel, Luis Romo, Brian Gutiérrez, Roberto Alvarado and Armando González, but those who played responded greatly on the court.
During the game it was clear that the Argentine Gabriel Milito beat the tactical approach to his compatriot Guido Pizarro, with a very flexible lineup in which Richie Ledezma and Efráin Ál Varez jumped out as very versatile wingers, a line of three, with José Castillo and Bryan González as centrebacks on the right and left, leaving Diego Campillo as free centreback.
In midfield he placed Fernando “Oso” González as containment, Omar Govea and Santiago Sandoval as midfielders for the costa two and forward Ricardo Marín and Ángel Sepúlveda, which had a lot of strength in the attack to overwhelm the felines.
The Tigers, for their side, only had two goal arrivals in the entire game and it was notorious that the coach Guido Pizarro did not find the thread for the skein in the entire match, at the gr ado that had to turn with the lineup from the beginning to the rookie Diego “Rica” Sánchez, who couldn't be the factor that the northerners expected as he did in the first game.
Sánchez was preyed on nerves and had to be relieved by Diego Lainez, but without generating danger and instead, the Chivas went with everything in front and at the end in five minutes the decoration of the match changed with the scores in the 73rd minute by deflecting a ball from Ricardo Marín's shot.
In minute 76 Sandoval scored again by finishing a header in the middle of three rivals and winning the shot from his teammate Ángel Sepúlveda and in this way writing l a definitive story in which the rookie of Chivas, son of another player who was destined to be a figure for Guadalajara, but in the end remained a promise.
Now the history has its heir and really we will have to see if the best of the team comes, because right now Chivas with its losses was a team with a lot of personality and left out one of the greater teams in the competition.
