The “Vasco” did not guarantee the ownership of Memo Ochoa vs. Czechia
Javier Aguirre announced several changes in Mexico's lineup against the Czech Republic, but did not guarantee the ownership of Memo Ochoa in search of his sixth World Cup
Faced with the great option of Guillermo Ochoa playing to seal his sixth World Cup in his career, Tricolor coach Javier Aguirre did not guarantee the participation of the legendary Mexican goalkeeper in the changes he will make to face the Czech Republic this Wednesday.
Aguirre, in the press conference prior to the duel against the European team in the third game of Group A of the World Cup, while clarifying that the blow suffered by Memo Ochoa in the morning training this Tuesday was only a false alarm, also refused to guarantee the presence of the goalkeeper from the beginning against the Czech Republic.
"Yes, he slipped, it was his hip and, the truth is, for his age, he is in great shape. The field is loose; before Memo fell, it happened to Tala; it was a moment in which we worried," Aguirre said.
The action where Memo took a while to get up after being helped by the national team's technical staff immediately went viral, but the coach clarified that Memo Ochoa, like the rest of the 25 called up, is ready to play against the Czechs.
But at no time did he fold his hands to announce the start of the national goalkeeper: "The debate tables are dedicated to generating controversy; I am not going to give anything away. Unfortunately, due to injury we lost Malagón and Huescas; in the national team there are those who are in the best moment. I am here for my players to play well and be well; we have not played well in the two games we played. Don't ask me anything about Memo again," he explained.
The rest of the changes
In the rest of the changes, Aguirre confirmed that Brian Gutiérrez will not play because they will take care of him due to the card he has accumulated and his place will surely be occupied by Obed Vargas from Atlético de Madrid, while Mateo Chávez is a candidate to appear in Jesús Gallardo's place.
The return of César Montes in the central defense is also confirmed, so the Mexican formation could be with Raúl Rangel or Memo Ochoa in goal, Jorge Sánchez, César Montes, Israel Reyes and Mateo Chávez in defense, Edson Álvarez, Obed Vargas, Luis Romo and Roberto Alvarado in midfield and forward Julián Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez.
We will see if these changes are confirmed or in the end they choose to keep Edson Álvarez in the center and Erik Lira in the midfield, as well as the continuity of Obed Vargas, who had a good performance against South Korea last week.
It would also not be strange for Santiago Giménez to start in the Tricolor attack and even for Israel Reyes to appear in the starting eleven of the national team against the Czech Republic in a duel where the eleven led by “Vasco” Aguirre will seek for the first time in its history three victories in the first phase.
