Hector Herrera spoke of his retirement
The Toluca midfielder doesn't want to look bad on the field. Hector Herrera could change teams before hanging up his boots

Hector Herrera is 35 years old. The former Atletico Madrid midfielder remains a regular in Antonio Mohamed's squad. However, Herrera doesn't plan to be active for long, as he believes it's unnecessary to reach a point where he can't perform on the pitch.
"I'm aware of my age, the moment I'm in... I don't want to play until I can't anymore and see myself in bad shape. I know I don't have many years left and I'm starting to see it from a different perspective: from the bench, analyzing, so I can then convey it to the players. I really like that aspect," he analyzed.
An example of bitter experience could be Chivas de Guadalajara. Javier Hernandez isn't having all the cards in his return to the Rebano Sagrado. Chicharito has been hit hard by injuries and has only managed to score three goals since his return. Javier's image has been tarnished at the end of his career.
Change of Scene
Hector Herrera hasn't ruled out the possibility of changing clubs before finishing his career. "HH" intends to retire with Toluca or Tuzos del Pachuca. The latter club was the team where he excelled in Mexican soccer and had the opportunity to go to Europe. But first, he must convince Jesus Martinez, president of Grupo Pachuca.
"I would love to finish here or at Pachuca, if the president forgives me. Retire and relax, then think carefully about what to do next: coach, agent, or simply enjoy life," he added.
This season, Hector Herrera continues to see a lot of activity. Between the Leagues Cup and the 2025 Apertura, "HH" has played 8 matches with Diablos Rojos del Toluca. Although he has only been able to play one full match, Herrera has accumulated 240 minutes on the field.
