The drama is over: PSG sells Gianluigi Donnarumma to Manchester City
After being relegated to the background at PSG, the goalkeeper found a place with the Citizens
The Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has arrived at Manchester City from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal valued at 30 million euros, equivalent to $35 million dollars.
The signing of the Italian depended on the sale of the Brazilian Ederson Moraes to Fenerbahce, which was also confirmed this Tuesday for 14 million euros, or $16.3 million dollars.
The goalkeeper was released by PSG when Luis Enrique decided he would prefer to opt for another goalkeeper, despite the fact that Donnarumma was key to the Parisians winning last year's UEFA Champions League, especially with his saves against Liverpool in the round of 16 and against Arsenal in the semifinals.
Donnarumma, a Euro 2021 champion with Italy, arrived at PSG that same year from AC Milan and has since made 161 appearances for the capital team, winning four French league titles, two French cups, and the aforementioned Champions League.
At City he will face competition from James Trafford, for whom City also paid $35 million dollars to Burnley this summer to sign him and who has started in the first three matchdays of Premier League.
