La Opinion Today: The Los Angeles Dodgers conquered their second consecutive World Series
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani, and Roki Sasaki showcased the excellence of Japanese baseball, being key figures in the title.
The Los Angeles Dodgers completed one of the most dramatic comebacks in Major League Baseball history this weekend, while the Blue Jays were two outs away at the top of the ninth inning, coming very close to winning their third World Series title in franchise history. And it would be the first in 32 years. Ricardo Lopez Juarez, Sports Editor of La Opinion, spoke to us about this memorable World Series.
“An epic World Series, a roller coaster of emotions, because anyone who watched the World Series suffered; I mean, there were so many emotions, very heart-stopping, a lot of agony, a great spectacle that the Dodgers and the Blue Jays gave us. I really feel bad for Toronto, for their players, for their fans—the Blue Jays fans were impeccable. I think they were the best team, the one that played the best, the one that hit the best, the one that fielded the best overall; they were the best team, but the Dodgers really showed a lot of character, and there's a lot of talk about them being a superteam, a $700 million payroll, well, yes, whatever you want to say, but in the end, they had to win with character, and they showed it to take home the ninth title in their history,” said Ricardo Lopez Juarez.
He said that “After Game 7, Shohei was asked Ohtani shared his opinion on what his compatriot Yoshinobu Yamamoto did, who, by the way, Yamamoto signed with the Dodgers in a way because Ohtani was already with the Dodgers, and then Roki Sasaki joined the Dodgers because both Ohtani and Yamamoto were on the team. In other words, the Ohtani factor is much bigger than his home runs and his pitches. (...) But when Ohtani was asked about his compatriot, he said: “Yamamoto is the best pitcher in the world.”

Araceli Martinez, opinion journalist specializing in the world of politics, analyzed a major news story for us
“This week, Governor Gavin Newsom confirmed in a television interview with CBS News that he will seek the presidency of the United States, something we all already knew and that, “Well, we realized it even before the last presidential election, because he was traveling all over the country at different events. So, it's not a surprise; he's simply confirming what everyone has been saying for a long time, and he says that starting next year we have midterm elections, and after the midterm elections, he'll be openly campaigning,” said Araceli Martinez.
