Marco Fabián asks for continuity for Gabriel Milito in Chivas

The Chivas de Guadalajara had a very good Clausura 2026 tournament. The Rebaño Sagrado finished second in the regular round and was on the verge of playing in the final of the tournament. Marco Fabián highlighted the work of Gabriel Milito in command of the team.
The Sacred Flock fell to Cruz Azul in the semifinals. Chivas did not go beyond a draw in the first leg (1-1), but in the second leg they were beaten by “La Maquina” with goals from Ángel Márquez and Agustín Palavecino (1-2).
Marco Fabián highlighted the work of Gabriel Milito on the club's bench. The former Mexican national team player acknowledged that he is excited about the work of the Argentine strategist. Fabián expects better results in the Apertura 2026.
"On the part of Chivas, despite all the players they took away, it has been a fantastic tournament. I think we are excited about how Gabriel Milito has been working and we hope that in the next tournament we can be even more excited about these young people who participate in the club," said Marco Fabián in a statement released by Mediotiempo.
Gabriel Milito began his process with Chivas in May 2025. Since then, the Argentine coach has been able to direct 44 games on the bench of the Rebaño Sagrado. Milito maintains a balance of 23 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses.
The youth of Chivas
Chivas de Guadalajara maintains a very young team. The average age of the Sacred Flock for Closing 2026 was 25.1 years. The youngest footballers were Santiago Sandoval (18 years old), Hugo Camberos (19 years old), Yael Padilla (20 years old), Brian Gutiérrez (22 years old) and the attacker Armando González (23 years old).

"In the end it's football, someone had to win and in the end it was Cruz Azul who scored the goal. But Chivas did their job and I know that the young people will gain experience and we will see a better Chivas the next tournament," he added.
