Sergio Ramos, historic captain of Real Madrid and current Monterrey player, surprised this Sunday with an unexpected launch off the courts. The 39-year-old Spanish center back presented the song Cibeles, a reggaeton in which he expresses with nostalgia and some reproach what his departure from the Merengue team in 2021 meant to him.

In the piece, Ramos performs phrases charged with emotion: "I killed for you, I loved you and I defended you, but it wasn't in me, you asked me to fly. I dressed in gala, I gave you blood and sweat... I gave you a crown, you gave me wings. I didn't know they were only so you could take me away."

A career full of titles and a farewell that left its mark

The defender was a fundamental part of Real Madrid for more than a decade. Wearing the white shirt, he has lifted 22 trophies: five La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, two Copa del Reys, and four Spanish Super Cups. However, despite that trajectory, the story ended in 2021, when Ramos left the club for Paris Saint-Germain. He later returned to Seville and is currently a member of Monterrey in Mexico.

The Andalusian acknowledged that that departure still weighs heavily on his memory, something he wanted to convey in Cibeles, composed in collaboration with Mexican artist Carin Leon. "A game lasts 90 minutes and I gave you 93 more than I should have. I never got tired of trying, this story was a legend. I'd rather die standing than live on my knees," Ramos sings in another verse.

The launch was made through his social media, with a video clip already circulating on Instagram and YouTube. It features the footballer in Madrid's Plaza de Cibeles, a symbol of the team's celebrations, surrounded by iconic images from his time with the club. Among them, his memorable goal against Atletico de Madrid in the 2014 Champions League final, which forced extra time and paved the way for the "Decima."

The production culminates with a symbolic image: the statue of Cybele crumbling while Ramos sings the phrase "You forgot about me, you left me unable to decide, that's what hurts me the most. And even though everything was like that, I would return 'enchanted', once and even a thousand times, you 'know' it, Cybele."
