Google Shopping is renewing with artificial intelligence to help you make your purchases
Google’s AI-powered tools make online shopping much easier and faster
Google wants to make back-to-school shopping a lot easier (and a little smarter, too). Thanks to new AI-powered features, you'll now be able to virtually try on clothes, receive alerts when prices drop, and even get personalized recommendations based on what you're looking for. All within Google Shopping, without having to jump from one site to another.
The star of these updates is the "virtually try on clothes" feature. This option was already available for women, but has now been extended to men's clothing and shows how a garment looks on different body types, skin tones, and styles. If you're searching for a t-shirt, for example, you'll be able to see it on someone with a similar build, which helps you decide more quickly whether it's worth it or not.
Plus, the search experience becomes more visual and interactive. If you type something like "school bags," you'll see filters with large images, automatic suggestions, and organized categories to help you find exactly what you need without wasting time.
Price alerts and tools to save money
One of the most useful features that is gaining popularity is price alerts. With just a click of a bell, you can receive notifications if that item you want drops in price. And if you don't want to register or log in, you can also track products by saving them directly to your browser, although in a slightly more limited way.
Another interesting new feature is the tool that shows you if a price is below, within, or above the average. Google analyzes a product's price history and tells you if you're making a good purchase or if it's worth waiting. This is ideal for those looking to take advantage of real deals, not just fake discounts that inflate the original price.
Additionally, you can see if a store offers free shipping, if it accepts returns, and how long it takes for your package to arrive. All of this appears clearly in the product view, without having to visit the seller's site.
Personalized recommendations and easier search
Google also wants to help you discover new brands and products. Now, when you do a search, the results page will include suggestions based on your browsing habits and what other similar people are buying. It's not just about showing you what's most popular; it's about showing you things you might actually be interested in.
And if you're undecided, the search engine now helps you easily compare models. For example, if you search for "Chromebook for students," it will show you quick comparisons between models with their prices, specifications, and reviews.
The idea behind it is to save you time and find what you need without having to leave Google. Everything from clothing to school supplies to technology can be searched for and purchased in one place. New AI-powered features aim to make the process more seamless, personalized, and helpful, especially during a time like back-to-school when there are a lot of decisions to make and little time to research.
