Travis Kelce on his engagement to Taylor Swift: I still get emotion
After announcing his engagement, the Kansas City Chiefs player said that the first time he introduced the singer as his fiancee was very special
This week, Travis Kelce spoke for the first time about his engagement to global superstar Taylor Swift during a special edition of his podcast New Heights, which he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce.
On the broadcast, Kelce described announcing his engagement as an "exciting" moment and “surprising.”
The American football player also said that the first time he referred to Taylor Swift as his fiancee at a recent event was something very exciting and special for him.
“It was the first time I introduced her like that in front of my teammates and it was great. I still get emotional, they are exciting moments,” he said.
Kelce also shared some advice on how to live that special moment: “You have to know your partner well, understand who you are doing it for and not let other people’s expectations influence how you live that moment.”
Last week, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce surprised everyone by announcing on social media that they had gotten engaged after two years of dating.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the couple announced in a post shared on their Instagram accounts.
In the images, Swift also showed off the ring Kelce gave her, a piece with a brilliant hand-cut cushion-shaped diamond, with rounded corners and thick facets on a gold band co-designed by Kindred Lubeck and Kelce.
The engagement marks a new chapter in Taylor Swift's life, as she is currently preparing the release of her upcoming album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, inspired by her experience behind the scenes of her successful world tour, *The Eras Tour*.
