Nathy Peluso and Grupo Niche make history at the Hollywood Bowl
In a statement, Grupo Niche expressed that it was an honor for them to share the stage with Nathy Peluso
The iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles was the setting, on July 15, for an unforgettable evening that united two generations of Latin music. The Argentine Nathy Peluso and the legendary Colombian orchestra Grupo Niche starred in the “Salsa Spectacular” concert, a celebration of the genre that captivated thousands of attendees.
The night, framed in the summer of the emblematic amphitheater, began with the presentation of El Marchante with Willy Calderón. But the highlight came with the fusion of Peluso's theatrical and contemporary proposal with the Colombians' trajectory of more than four decades.
The singer, known for her style without borders, presented part of her repertoire accompanied by the orchestra, demonstrating once again her respect and love for salsa.
A meeting of talents
The most anticipated moment of the collaboration came with the joint interpretation of “Sin Sentimiento”, one of the most emblematic songs of Grupo Niche. Peluso joined the group to revisit this classic, delivering a version full of emotion and power, which she herself confessed is her favorite song in the orchestra. This duo became the highlight of a night where salsa tradition met the innovation of one of the most versatile artists of the moment.
In addition to “Sin Sentimiento”, the shared repertoire included other gems from Peluso's “Malportada” EP, such as “Como en el Idilio”, a song he recorded with Marc Anthony and which pays tribute to the Willie Colón classic.
After their performance with Peluso, the Cali orchestra took control of the stage with a 70-minute set that was a true journey through its musical history. Topics such as “La Negra No quiere”, “Gotas de Lluvia”, “Romance 1”, “Ana Milé”, “ Nuestro Sueño”, “Buenaventura y Caney” and the anthem “Cali Pachanguero” made the attendees dance, waving Colombian and Argentine flags in a party atmosphere.
The evening was so special for the group that, in a statement, they expressed: "For Grupo Niche it was a true honor to share the stage with Nathy Peluso in a place as important as the Hollywood Bowl. It was a very special night for us and for salsa, because it allowed us to celebrate our history and, at the same time, meet an artist who approaches the genre with respect, strength and her own identity."
