A man has been arrested outside Buckingham Palace. According to media reports, the person was caught throwing something suspicious near the palace. Officers took the man into custody at around 7pm on Tuesday after he approached the gates of Buckingham Palace in London. After this the palace was completely sealed and locked down. Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Joseph MacDonald said officers acted immediately to apprehend the suspect.

Palace official Joseph Macdonald said authorities immediately detained the man and handed him over to police custody. There were no reports of injuries to officials posted at the palace or members of the public. Officers remain at the scene and further inquiries are ongoing. Significantly, on May 6, the coronation of King Charles III is to take place.

The Metropolitan Police said a man had been arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon and that the man's bag had been searched for anything suspicious. Although the experts have thoroughly examined it, an explosive controller has also been installed as a precaution.

According to reports, the King and Queen were not at Buckingham Palace when the incident took place. Police said it was a terrorist incident. The mental health history of the suspect is being investigated. The man arrested is believed to have been acting alone and is being treated as an isolated incident.
