Hernan Bermudez Requena, former head of Public Security in Tabasco, was linked to La Barredora, a cell of the Jalisco Nueva Generacion Cartel.
Military documents and intelligence leaks reveal that Hernan Bermudez Requena, former head of Public Security in Tabasco, was linked to organized crime activities since 2019, despite which he remained in office until 2024.
According to confidential files from the Guacamaya Leaks collective, at least 30 military reports since 2019 link Bermudez to "La Barredora," a cell of the Jalisco Nueva Generacion Cartel (CJNG) in southeastern Mexico. Internal emails from the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) show that, since December of that year, authorities have warned about his possible relationship with criminal cells, in classified reports that include diagnoses, cards, and intelligence analysis.
One of the documents from late December 2019 titled "Expansion of Information on the Playas Case," classified as "Secret," indicates the existence of links between Bermudez and leaders of the CJNG in Tabasco.
A report from July 2021 details how, after the execution of a leader of the group, "The Azul” and/or “Pocahontas,” Bermudez allegedly assumed control of CJNG cells in Tabasco, in complicity with other officials and organized crime actors, such as “El Carnal” and/or “Coco.”
The newspaper El Pais cited a military document indicating that “El H,” allegedly Hernan Bermudez, ordered the assassination of a criminal leader known as “Kalimba,” in complicity with Carlos Tomás Díaz, advisor to the director of the Ministerial Police, and an operator identified as “Rayo.”

Army documents identify him as director of the Investigative Police in Tabasco, with direct connections to activities illicit activities, including hydrocarbon theft and drug trafficking.
