Starting this Wednesday, July 1, the state gasoline tax in California will increase, which is already considered the highest in the United States.
According to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, the tax increases 2.2 cents per gallon of fuel, under a state law that establishes annual adjustments for inflation.
As reported by the state department, gasoline taxes increased since the first day of July from 61.2 cents to 63.4 cents per gallon.
