Starting January 1, 2026, California's minimum wage will increase by 40 cents, to $16.90 per hour.
The increase to the minimum wage is part of a legally mandated process that began almost a decade.
In addition to the statewide increase, several cities and counties in California also have scheduled increases in their respective salaries starting on the first day of next year.
