Danger of vegetation fires in Southern California due to intense winds
The National Weather Service warned of the high risk of fires due to winds and low humidity; conditions persist until Monday
Danger of vegetation fires in Southern California due to a combination of intense winds and dangerous maritime conditions that will continue at least until this Monday, according to a report from the National Weather Service (NWS).
Specialists said that moderate to strong winds are forecast in some inland areas of the counties of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, which increases the threat that a conflagration could break out in the region.
According to the NWS, west to northwest winds between 15 and 30 miles per hour (24 to 48 km/h), with gusts of 35 to 50 miles per hour (56 to 80 km/h), are expected from this Sunday through Monday, in valleys, mountainous areas and deserts.
