Day laborers from Los Angeles are surprised by immigration operation at Home Depot
Workers thought potential employers were traveling in the agents' vehicles; at least 14 days laborers were detained at the Panorama City store
A raid by federal immigration agents surprised day laborers in the area of ??the Home Depot located on Van Nuys Boulevard, in the Panorama City neighborhood of Los Angeles, with the arrest of more than a dozen people.
Witnesses said that agents Hooded and armed men got out of several vehicles, which were not clearly identified as police vehicles, to arrest day laborers who were in the store parking lot looking for work. The arrests occurred when the federal agents' trucks parked in front of the area where dozens of workers gather every morning.
