Donald Trump issues an ultimatum against Iran and threatens to destroy its power plants
Donald Trump gave Iran 48 hours to unblock the Strait of Hormuz or else he will destroy its power plants
Despite claiming to be winning the war against Iran and having the support of several countries supposedly ready to contribute to unblocking the Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump threatened the Islamic Republic with destroying its power plants if he does not submit at its will.
Through a joint statement, the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Canada, South Korea, New Zealand, Denmark, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Romania, Bahrain, Lithuania, and Australia strongly condemned Iran for keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed since February 28, preventing ships carrying oil and goods needed in the international market from navigating its waters.
Furthermore, the signatory nations indicated their readiness to support the United States in unblocking this important maritime route.
“We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of the nations participating in the preparatory planning.
We condemn in the strongest terms Iran's recent attacks on unarmed commercial vessels in the Gulf, attacks on civilian infrastructure, including oil and gas facilities, and the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iranian forces,” the document states.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump used the Truth Social platform to issue an ultimatum to the Tehran government.
“If Iran does not fully open, without threats, the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from this moment, the United States will attack and destroy its power plants, starting with the largest one!” he wrote.
The New York tycoon's new stance comes hours after General Ali Mohammad Naini, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC),He issued a chilling statement. "We are producing missiles even in times of war, which is astonishing, and there is no particular problem with storage. Iran will attack the parks, recreational areas, and tourist destinations of its enemies," the military official told the state-run newspaper Iran.
