A hospital in the Willowbrook area is seeking support from Los Angeles County to avoid suspending its services due to lack of resources.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital, which was built to provide medical care to 25,000 patients a year, served five times that number during the last year, according to one of its directors.
However, the hospital, which serves a community with limited emergency healthcare resources, is at risk of closing due to a funding gap, which currently stands at several million dollars.
