ICE will deport Asian woman from Los Angeles despite family medical crisis
Federal immigration authorities are threatening to deport Masuma Khan, who has lived in the U.S. for 30 years and cares for her chronically ill daughter.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning to deport an Asian woman who has lived peacefully in the United States for more than 30 years despite a family medical crisis.
Masuma Khan, 64, A resident of Altadena for nearly three decades and a survivor of the Eaton Fire in January, she was detained by federal ICE agents when she attended a routine immigration checkpoint.
“She went in for her annual checkup, and they detained her and took her away. I’m scared that place is going to destroy her,” Masuma’s daughter, Riya, told ABC.
