Immigrant Self-Deports and Embarks on a Journey with His Things in a Trailer to El Salvador
The citizen of El Salvador made his first trip from California to Texas and then left the rest of the trip to someone else.
A Salvadoran immigrant who lived in the United States for more than two decades decided to return to his country of origin in an unusual way. And instead of selling his belongings and leaving them behind to just buy a plane ticket, he chose to load them into a trailer and embark on a long journey to El Salvador.
As narrated by the Salvadoran himself in a video published on TikTok, the trip is not about a conventional move, but about closing a cycle after twenty years of living in California.
A journey of thousands of kilometers with everything on his back
In the video published on the TikTok account @algo.bien.5.star, which often shares stories of immigrants in the United States, the Salvadoran showed how he organized every detail of the transfer of his belongings.
With the help of a trailer, he loaded everything from furniture to his own car, determined to take with him everything he had accumulated over two decades of residence. As he explained, he drove the trailer himself from California to Texas, where another person will be in charge of continuing the journey to El Salvador.
According to the Central American, the person responsible for the journey from Mexico to El Salvador asked him if he wanted to accompany him on the trip. However, the Salvadoran decided to take a flight from Texas to his native country.
The "self-deportation" told in the first person
In his story, the Salvadoran citizen did not reveal the exact reason for his departure from the United States. However, based on his account, there is a possibility that the Central American man made this decision due to a deportation order or simply to leave the country due to the complicated immigration situation.
Despite the above, and according to what he described in the video, his main motivation is to reconnect with his country and close a period in which, despite having achieved stability in California, he no longer found reasons to remain.
Two decades in California and a future in El Salvador
In a subsequent video, published just a few days ago, the Salvadoran happily revealed that he was already on his way to join his family, motivated to start a new stage in his life.
Regarding his future, he assures that he plans to settle in El Salvador with his belongings and take advantage of the experience and benefits acquired in the United States to cement his future.
