Julian Quinones has a new coach in Saudi Arabia
Brendan Rodgers, former Liverpool manager, was announced as the new manager of Al Qadsiah. Quinones will have to start from scratch at the club
Al Qadsiah will begin a new chapter in Saudi Arabian football. Brendan Rodgers will be the new manager of the Saudi Pro League team. The English manager has an impressive track record. Julian Quinones will have to start from scratch in this new process. Quinones' team recently decided to part ways with Michel. The Spanish coach had been in charge of the club since October 2023. Michel managed 78 matches for the Saudi Arabian side, achieving a record of 48 wins, 12 draws, and 18 losses. The Al Qadsiah board decided to make a change at the helm. Brendan Rodgers, a prestigious English coach, will take over the reins of the Saudi Arabian team. This ambitious appointment further underscores the club's ambitions: to lift the Saudi Pro League trophy. "Club Al Qadsiah is delighted to confirm the appointment of world-renowned coach Brendan Rodgers as head coach of the first team, a signing that reflects the club's ambitious vision and rapidly growing sporting project," the club stated. A manager with a proven track record: Brendan Rodgers is a highly experienced strategist in European football. The 52-year-old veteran has managed several major clubs throughout his career. Rodgers has led teams at Watford, Reading, Swansea, Liverpool, Celtic, Leicester, and now in Saudi Arabia. His most memorable project was his time in Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers managed the Reds for 166 matches, achieving 85 wins, 39 draws, and 42 losses. Although Rodgers didn't win any titles with Liverpool, he left a notable legacy in English football. "Following a rigorous global recruitment process, we are delighted to welcome Brendan to Al Khobar as our new head coach. This is a historic moment for the club. The caliber of his experience and winning record reflect our ambition and long-term vision to establish Al Qadsiah as one of Asia's leading clubs," said James Bisgrove, CEO of Al Qadsiah.
