Rescue teams are racing against time to try to save Fabio, a nine-year-old boy who remains trapped under the rubble of a 12-story building that collapsed after the earthquakes registered in the Venezuelan state of La Guaira.

The minor is located approximately six meters deep among the remains of the structure, in the town of Caraballeda, one of the areas most affected by the disaster. Rescuers from Venezuela, along with international specialists from El Salvador and Argentina, work non-stop to reach him.

To move forward safely, teams have propped up different sectors of the building with wood due to the high risk of a new collapse. The work is extremely complex and the rescuers have warned that the operation could last for several more hours, since any false move could compromise the stability of the structure.

According to information from the emergency services, the minor's father remains at the scene closely following the rescue efforts. The authorities suspect that Fabio could be found next to his mother's lifeless body, although the teams do not rule out the possibility of locating other living people in the rubble.

The operation takes on special meaning after the successful rescue of Hernán Gil, a 43-year-old security guard who was found alive after being buried for eight days under another collapsed building. That operation, in which more than a hundred international rescuers participated, renewed hope of finding more survivors despite the passing of the days.

Search efforts continue in different areas affected by the double earthquake that shook Venezuela on June 24 and left thousands of victims, injured and destroyed buildings.

As time passes, the chances of finding survivors decrease, but emergency teams maintain their efforts in the hope of achieving another miraculous rescue.
