At least 344 tremors, the most intense of them with a magnitude of 4.7, were recorded during a seismic swarm that occurred From this Saturday night to this Sunday morning in Imperial County, on the Mexico border, in southern California.
The United States Geological Survey(USGS) reported that the series of earthquakes were recorded in the city of Brawley area, south of the Salton Sea, in Imperial County.
According to USGS data, at least 42 earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 occurred in the region during the seismic swarm, as detailed by the Caltech Seismological Laboratory.
