Walmart Recalls 850,000 Water Bottles Due to Defect
The recalled product has a defect in the cap that has so far caused injuries to three consumers
The retail chain, Walmart, recently announced through a statement that it is recalling approximately 850,000 bottles of water due to packaging problems.
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the retailer detailed that the recall is due to a defect that has caused vision loss in at least three consumers while trying to uncap the product, as screw-on caps tend to be forcefully ejected and pose a hazard.
The recalled product is the Ozark Trail brand 64 oz stainless steel water bottles, model number 83-662, in silver packaging with a black screw-on cap and the logo embossed on the side of the container, which were sold at the retailer for up to $15.
The CPSC advises consumers to discard this product because it is a risk. Walmart said consumers can return the item to the store for a refund or contact Walmart customer service at 800-925-6278 for more information.
