Hair Treatments Recalled Due to Packaging Risks
According to the CPSC, the recalled products do not comply with the Poison Prevention Packaging Act
In a statement, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) informed US consumers about the recall of two hair growth treatment products due to packaging risks.
According to the health agency, the recall involves 41,900 units of RootStim Beard Growth Serum and Ruahouine Hair Growth Serums containing minoxidil, a vasodilator drug used to treat hair loss, have also received an alert due to their child-resistant packaging. The CPSC emphasized in the statement that both products “are not child-resistant, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, and pose a risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if young children ingest the contents.” Although no injuries or incidents related to the products have been reported to date, the agency recommends their immediate recall.
In addition, it recommends that consumers “immediately secure both products and place them out of the sight and reach of children,” it noted. The agency also highlighted that the products were sold online through various retail chains, including Amazon, from November 2024 through September 2025. Furthermore, the manufacturer indicated that consumers can obtain instructions on how to dispose of the product or replace it with a new container by emailing finergraceing@gmail.com, visiting rootstim.com online, or calling 202-743-1714 Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.
