Authorities arrested a Hispanic man in Orange County who posed as a lawyer and sexually assaulted an immigrant woman who came to him seeking help with her immigration status.

Jose Bernal, 65. The Hispanic man, who worked for BMB Multiservices, was arrested on the morning of October 30 by officers of The Santa Ana Police Department. He is accused of impersonating a lawyer and demanding $14,000 from the immigrant woman for his services during a meeting in November 2024 at an office in Santa Ana. The man offered the woman a discount if she agreed to begin a romantic relationship with him.
