“I just murdered my wife”: Tennessee man faces murder charge after 911 call
Douglas “Kirk” Rawl, 57, faces a charge of criminal homicide in the death of Allison “Che’Che” Rawl, 52
A Tennessee man was arrested and charged with murder after authorities said he called 911 and confessed to murdering his wife inside their home in the College Grove community.
Douglas “Kirk” Rawl, 57, faces a charge of criminal homicide in the death of Allison “Che’Che” Rawl, 52, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said.
The incident occurred during the early hours of July 1, shortly after 2:00 a.m., when agents went to the couple's residence after receiving a call from the suspect himself.
The 911 call alerted authorities
According to an arrest affidavit cited by local media, Rawl reportedly told the emergency operator: “I just murdered my wife.”
During the conversation, the man allegedly made other statements about his wife's condition and his intentions after the attack.
Authorities said Rawl was found outside the home when officers arrived. According to the police report, the man was taking off his clothes and had ignored several orders to stop before advancing toward one of the officers.
The agents used a stun gun to control him. Following the intervention, Rawl suffered a forehead injury and received medical attention before being taken into custody.
Investigation points to a discussion before the attack
Investigators said Rawl later described an argument with his wife after she allegedly woke him up while he was sleeping on a couch.
According to the affidavit, the man reported that at some point he was on the ground holding Allison Rawl's head and that he then grabbed a firearm.
Authorities say Rawl said he shot his wife and continued firing the gun until it stopped working.
Police said the suspect did not attempt to provide medical aid to the victim after the attack.
Suspect remains detained with a million-dollar bail
Rawl remains held with bail set at $2.5 million.
Authorities did not immediately say when his next court appearance is scheduled.
The case remains under investigation as prosecutors review evidence collected by Williamson County deputies.
