Immigrant accused of assault for biting an ICE agent when he was detained in Louisiana
The migrant tried to escape when he was detained by ICE agents and in that escape attempt he assaulted the agent
A federal agent was injured after detaining a migrant, who bit him on the hand in an attempt to escape. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) filed charges against the undocumented immigrant for assaulting a law enforcement officer. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that during an operation in Tullos, Louisiana, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent was injured after Maximiliano Perez Perez bit his hand while resisting arrest. “He used his teeth as a weapon.” Authorities shared that during the arrest, Perez Perez, whose nationality was not revealed, attempted to flee by pushing the agents and then “used his teeth as a weapon and forcefully grabbed an ICE agent's hand, cutting the skin and causing it to bleed.” According to immigration documents, Maximiliano Perez entered the United States at an unknown date and time without being inspected or paroled by an immigration officer. 1150% increase in assaults against agents
The Department indicated that the increase in assaults against agents is growing and has reached a very high percentage.
“This criminal illegal immigrant is being charged with assault after brutally biting a law enforcement officer in an attempt to evade arrest. DHS law enforcement is facing an 1150% increase in assaults against them and an 8000% increase in death threats,” confirmed Under Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“This is the reality our ICE agents face daily as they work to simply enforce the law. Many of these assaults, including bites and vehicular attacks, occur as a direct result of sanctuary politicians encouraging undocumented immigrants to evade arrest,” McLaughlin said in a statement.

DHS requested the politicians, to the agitators and the media to “stop inciting violence and resistance against ICE law enforcement.”
They stated that many of these attacks against immigration agents are due to the fact that sanctuary cities hold “seminars to provide resources and advice on how to challenge ICE.”
DHS directly pointed to legislators who allegedly carry out these activities so that migrants can evade arrest during raids.
