Man killed his wife and then took his own life in front of his children in Georgia
A 43-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband in a home in Johns Creek, Georgia.
A 43-year-old woman died allegedly at the hands of her husband in a murder-suicide that occurred Sunday night in the city of Johns Creek, in the state of Georgia, United States.
The victims were identified as Martha Holladay, 43, and Richard Holladay, 52, who were found dead inside their residence after an emergency call made by one of their teenage children, the Daily Mail reported.
According to local police, officers responded to the home shortly before midnight after receiving a report related to a domestic incident. When they arrived at the scene, one of the couple's children was waiting for them outside the house and told them that an argument between their parents had escalated into a shooting.
Inside the residence, officers found the bodies of both adults.
Authorities point to a murder-suicide
According to the preliminary investigation, detectives believe Richard Holladay shot his wife before taking his own life. Authorities indicated that both died from gunshot wounds to the head.
The police indicated that the investigation remains open to clarify all the details of what happened.
The couple's three children were in the home at the time of the events. After the incident, they were placed in the care of relatives.
The death of Martha Holladay provoked numerous outpourings of grief among friends, colleagues and members of the community.
Holladay was part of the local business organization North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, an institution that publicly expressed its sadness over the tragedy.
In a message spread on social networks, the organization described Martha as a talented professional who led activities and events with the aim of strengthening ties between members of the business community.
Likewise, they highlighted that he was a person of deep faith, a positive attitude and great empathy towards others.
"He left a lasting mark on all of us. We deeply mourn his death and pray for his children, whom he loved with all his heart," the organization said.

Among the tributes, that of her friend Kara Davis also stood out, who remembered Martha as a dedicated mother and a person committed to her family and her beliefs.
"She was an extraordinary woman and mother. She fiercely loved her children and Jesus. She was always willing to help those around her and had a positive and loving spirit that was contagious to everyone," he said.
