A family filed a lawsuit against the city of Santa Ana, in Orange County, for the death of a Hispanic teenager due to shooting by police officers.
Family members of 15-year-old Jaden Michaca alleged that Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) officers used unjustified deadly force in an incident they described as a mental health crisis.
In a press conference, the teenager's mother, Maribel Michaca, declared that her son did not deserve to die that way on the night of June 14, when law enforcement officers opened fire on him.
