Florinda Meza returns to talk about the legacy of Chespirito on her social networks
Since the premiere of Chespirito: Sin querer queriendo, Florinda Meza has been critical of the way she is portrayed.
In recent days, Florinda Meza, Mexican actress and widow of the legendary Roberto Gomez Bolanos, has raised her voice to defend the true impact of the iconic productions of "Chespirito", such as El Chavo del 8 and El Chapulin Colorado. This, in response to the series 'Chespirito: Sin querer queriendo', which chronicles the comedian's rise to fame.
Through her social media, Meza reminded new generations of the magnitude of a legacy that, far from being ephemeral, conquered Latin America for decades.
With the firmness and affection that characterize her, Florinda Meza clarified that the programs created by Gomez Bolanos were not a passing phenomenon. "The recordings of Chespirito lasted 25 years. El Chavo remained part of the program until 1992," she highlighted in an emotional message on Instagram.
In addition, she revealed that the production ended in 1995, not due to a lack of viewers, but by decision of its creator: "This is how Roberto wanted to say goodbye, at the top of his game, with the best ratings and all the advertisers committed."
The actress, famous for her role as Doña Florinda, emphasized that the public's affection never waned. "In Latin America, it never stopped airing. In Mexico, it was a huge success when it was rescheduled in 2000, to the surprise of those who thought it would never return," he recalled. Obstacles during productions Meza also spoke about the obstacles these productions faced. In 2020, for reasons beyond the public's control, the shows went off the air, leaving a void for their fans. However, in 2024, they partially returned to the screen, although many chapters and characters still need to be re-released.
This call for attention is not only an artistic defense, but a reminder for new generations: Chespirito's success is not measured in years, but in the love of millions. "What we achieved with Roberto at the helm is historic," he stated.
Florinda Meza made it clear that her fight is not for statistics or profits, but to preserve the cultural significance of these series. "I'm speaking of the affection of more than five generations who have enjoyed this gem," she expressed. The actress expressed her gratitude for the messages of love received over 50 years, confirming that the true treasure of El Chavo y El Chapulin Colorado is the community they formed.
"You are the most important thing," she concluded. "I have always defended and will always defend the beautiful neighborhood we have all formed."
As she has mentioned in other publications, Meza does not agree with the version of 'Chespirito: Sin querer queriendo' and the criticism has turned against her for being singled out as "the other one."
