Kelly Osbourne gets engaged on her father last show with Black Sabbath
The romantic proposal by Sid Wilson, Slipknot keyboardist and DJ, occurred in Birmingham, England
Kelly Osbourne, daughter of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne, said yes to her longtime partner, Sid Wilson, Slipknot keyboardist and DJ, in a romantic marriage proposal backstage at Black Sabbath's final concert in Birmingham, England. The emotional moment, shared by Kelly on Instagram, captured the essence of a family united by rock and love.
On Saturday at Villa Park, friends and family gathered to celebrate Black Sabbath's farewell, but Wilson had other plans. Amid the commotion, he knelt before Kelly and declared:
“Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world. Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life with you.” The scene, punctuated by Ozzy's dry humor “Fuck you, you won't marry my daughter!” ended with Kelly accepting to hugs and applause.
Kelly and Wilson met in 1999 at Ozzfest, but their romance blossomed decades later. In 2022, Kelly announced the couple's return with a heartfelt message: “After 23 years of friendship, I can't believe where we are.” Shortly after, they revealed that they were expecting their son, Sidney, born that same year.
With this proposal, the couple closes one chapter and opens another, surrounded by the musical legacy of their families. "Oh, and this happened yesterday!" wrote Kelly, summing up the magic of an unforgettable weekend.
A historic day for the Osbournes
The concert not only marked the end of an era for Black Sabbath, a band founded in 1968, but also brought together figures such as Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Billy Corgan, who paid tribute to Ozzy on social media: "I cried silently as my heroes fell on his magic sword."
Jason Momoa was the host of the event, which lasted more than 10 hours and was very enthusiastic during the concert.
