Maribel Guardia reveals that she did not want to be a mother because she was orphaned at 9 years old
Maribel Guardia opened up about how much she suffered after her mother died of cancer
Life hasn't been easy for Maribel Guardia, as she herself confessed in a conversation she had with Adriana Gallardo on her podcast 'Chingona Mente', in which she spoke openly about her motherhood and how much she suffered the death of her mother, who left this world when she was only 9 years old.
In the conversation, the Costa Rican-born woman revealed that there was a stage in her life in which motherhood was not part of her priorities because of how much she suffered after the death of her mother, however, over time came Julián Figueroa, her son, who unfortunately passed away at the age of 27.
“I did not want to have children because I was orphaned at the age of 9. I was 9 years old and my mother had cancer," Maribel recalled.
In another part of the conversation, she detailed how she suffered the death of her mother, who left when she needed her most.
"I remember perfectly the last time I saw her because I was going to school, I kissed her, she gave me her blessing. That was the last kiss I had from my mother. She entered the hospital and when I arrived I saw my sister collapsed with two people crying and my mother had died, "Maribel remembered about that shocking chapter in her life.
She then said that for 9 nights she dreamed about her beloved mother, however, out of nowhere she stopped seeing her in her dreams, which meant another very hard blow for her.
"I dreamed about my mother for nine nights, that we were flying together, that we were next to a river dressed in white. After nine nights, I no longer dream of her and I begin to dread my mother's corpse," she recounted, visibly affected.
The actress also acknowledged that the hardest thing for her, after seeing her mother's body, is that she would never hug her again.
"For a child, it is very hard to see a corpse and not understand that your mother, who hugged you, who kissed you, no longer touches you, speaks to you, or kisses you. I think it is a horrible break," she concluded in the fragment of the interview that has been released.
