Andy García will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Imagen Foundation
The act will be honored on August 21 in Beverly Hills for his career and his commitment to the representation of the Latino community in Hollywood
The Imagen Foundation announced that respected artist Andy García will be the recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award during the 41st annual Imagen Awards.
The ceremony will take place next Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Beverly Hilton hotel, located in Beverly Hills, on a night where more than 33 awards will be presented in various categories.
With a long-lasting career, García has established himself as one of the most respected figures in the film industry. His career is marked by iconic performances and a deep commitment to inclusion, constantly promoting Latino voices both in front of and behind the cameras.
Over the years, the actor has accumulated nominations for the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmy awards, in addition to achieving musical successes awarded with the Grammy and Latin Grammy awards.
“Andy García represents the best of what the Imagen Foundation has sought to celebrate for more than four decades,” said Helen Hernández, founder and president of the organization in a statement.
The recognition coincides with a crowning moment for the artist, who recently premiered his feature film “Diamond” at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival —of which he is the screenwriter, director and star—, for which he received a nine-minute standing ovation.
For his part, García expressed his deep gratitude. "This award is especially significant because it celebrates not only my career, but also the numerous artists, mentors and audiences who have been part of it. Our shared Hispanic culture is home to many important stories capable of reflecting the richness of our identity," he said in a statement.
